Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) PRN

Role and ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of the position is to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing waived, moderately complex, and highly complex procedures in the Laboratory under the direction of the Laboratory Manager and Technical Supervisor.
Provides data in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Conduct chemical analyses of blood and body fluids such as urine using automated analyzers, microscopic examination, and manual techniques to detect abnormalities or diseases and enter findings into computer.
Conduct all required blood testing for transfusion purposes.
Examine cells stained with dye to locate abnormalities.
Set up, maintain, calibrate, and operate instrumentation according to established policies and procedure.
Analyze test results and evaluate for conformance to all regulatory requirements and laboratory policies and procedures.
Analyze and record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs, or narratives.
Consult with a pathologist when abnormal cells are found.
Prepare standard volumetric solutions or reagents to be combined with samples, following standardized formulas.
Performs routine and complex analysis.

Successful completion of internship program that qualifies for the ASCP Registry Exam preferred.
or Associate's of Science degree and meet the requirements to qualify as an MLT.
Experience - Two (5) years of pertinent full-time experience as an MT or MLT is preferred.
Licenses & Certification Eligible for or have passed a registry or certification exam given by a nationally recognized organization for medical technologist, clinical laboratory scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technologist preferred.
Registered as ASCP is preferred.
